Welcome to my studio!
Based in Skokie, IL, my studio revolves around traditional piano teaching, where students develop strong technique, note-reading, a good sense of rhythm, and music theory. With these skills, they will be able to play a vast range of repertoire - from baroque, classical, and romantic period music to modern-day video game, anime, or film music.
Apart from becoming well-rounded musicians, I believe in the importance of students learning how to apply skills developed through music into their daily lives - dedication, problem-solving, time management, and more.
Program Opportunities:
Achievement in Music Exams (AIM)
AIM is a comprehensive and leveled curriculum written by the Illinois State Music Teachers' Association. Learn more about AIM here.
Competitions and Festivals
Participating in local festivals and competitions gives students the chance to challenge themselves, set goals, share their music, receive valuable feedback, and celebrate progress in a supportive environment.
Bi-Annual Recitals
Studio recitals are a fun and meaningful way for students to showcase what they’ve been working on, build performance confidence, and celebrate musical milestones with family and friends.
Performance Videos
Students interested in sharing their performance and playing online can work with me to record themselves on a Kawai GX-2, or use high-end digital keyboards and technology to create “top-down synthesia” videos.

Parents are encouraged to sit in for the lessons in order to be involved with their students music education, and can assist with at home practicing if needed.
As students only have 1 lesson a week for only 30 minutes, they are expected to practice at least 5 days a week. Shorter but more frequent practice sessions works much better than longer but fewer practice sessions.
General Guidelines for practice time:
Young kids and beginners students: 15-20 minutes/day
Late beginner and intermediate students: 30 minutes/day
Late intermediate and advanced students: 45-60 minutes /day
